MODEL 6102

CAMAC TEST MODULE AND DATAWAY DISPLAY MODULE

FEATURES

APPLICATIONS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Model 6102 is a single-width module that indicates the state of the Dataway lines at a normal station during a Dataway cycle. The unit contains three 24-bit registers, READ DATA, WRITE DATA, and COMMAND registers, the contents are displayed by front panel LEDs.

DISPLAY MODULE

As a Display module the unit has two basic modes, Static and S1.

STATIC MODE

In the static mode, the DC level of the Dataway is reflected independently of the timing signals S1, S2, and BUSY. The S1, S2 and BUSY indicators reflect the DC level of these signals in Static Mode. This mode is used in crate trouble shooting and in locating defective signal lines.

S1 MODE

In the S1 mode, the unit functions as a normal station display module. The Dataway signals are stored in the three registers at S1 time and displayed on the front panel LEDs. The contents of the write data register and the command register can be read with a Dataway operation. Reading these registers does not change the contents of the display. The contents of the registers can be frozen by placing the unit in the Stop mode. The unit can be commanded into the Stop mode, a front panel switch can select, or by a separate control module. The contents of a Data register and Command register can be read while the unit is in the Stop mode. The Stop mode must be removed to enter new data into the Display.

GL MODE

To enter the GL mode, the front panel switch must be in the S1 position, the normal operating position. When the unit is commanded into the GL mode, the Data register becomes a source of GLs for the Type "A" Controller. A cable is required between the 6102 and the Type "A" controller. The 6102 can be left in a operating system. This is possible because the L to GL programming normally dine on the connector of the Type "A" is done on chip headers in the Model 6102. An L can be patched to any GL on the headers. The unit is supplied with all one to one jumpers, that is L1 to GL-1, L2 to GL-2, etc. In the GL mode, the Data register can only be loaded with the N.F16.A0 command. The GL mode is used for testing controllers and Branch Drivers.
