32 CHANNEL PROGRAMMABLE GAIN SCANNING ADC
The Bi Ra Model 5332 is a single-width CAMAC module with 32 differential front panel two-wire inputs. Connectors may be Type DC 37 or DD50P or S. Analog inputs are scanned and converted digital data stored in RAM. Data may be read without interrupting the scan. Channel scan rate is variable from approximately 200 to 750 . Removable analog return terminators and OVP diodes allow alteration of terminations and installation of capacitor mounted headers for single-pole input filters. A two-level multiplexer is followed by a high input impedance Programmable Gain Instrument amplifier, a Sample/Hold (SH) and a 12-bit ADC. ADC full- scale is strappable for unipolar +5V, +10V and bipolar 2.5V, 5V, and 10V. Straps allow data to be presented to the dataway as a 16-bit 2s complement word. For bipolar, the sign is extended to 16 bits; bits 13 through 16 are zero for unipolar.
Individual channel gains may be any of nine from 1 through 1024 or set manually so all channel gains are identical. A scan Sequence register allows a sequential or random channel sequence to be scanned. The number of channels scanned are selectable in increments of 1 up to 32.
