CAMAC DIGITAL INPUT 16 CHANNEL OPTO-ISOLATED CHANGE-OF-STATE INPUT REGISTER

FEATURES

APPLICATIONS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Bi Ra Model 3322 and 3326 are single-width, opto-isolated 16 (2 wire) input, CAMAC modules. Input pairs are through the rear auxiliary 36 pin edge connector. Each pair will withstand 150V peak with respect to ground or any other inputs. The modules are logically identical but differ with respect to their input response. On both units the desired input response is strap selectable. The digital input feature of the module transfers the current status of its 16 input ports to the CAMAC dataway all modes of operation. Status of all 16 inputs are displayed on front panel LEDs.With the change-of-state feature, the module operates as a maskable change-of-state device capable of generating CAMAC LAMs. Two 16-bit Mask Registers (M1 and M2), a LAM Enable flag, a system ARM flag, and a 16-bit New Status Register (NSR) are provided. Upon receipt of commands SYSTEM ARM or CLEAR LAM, the module transfers the data pattern of its 16 input ports to the NSR. The module then performs the function F = (M1) (LS) (NSR) + (M2) (LS) (NSR) on each bit of the module. Effectively the Mask M1 allows the function for positive transitions of LINE STATUS (LS) and M2 allows the function for negative transitions of LS.When ARMED, the assertion of the function (F) will load the data of LS into the NSR and clear the SYSTEM ARM. The NSR may be read from the dataway to provide the user with the LS following a non-masked input transition. The module will REARM upon receipt of a READ NEW STATUS command to record subsequent changes. Upon being ARMED by the READ NEW STATUS, the module may immediately reload the NSR if an additional non-mask change is present.

The LAM request, if enabled, will set upon occurrence of a non-masked state change and is cleared by CLEAR LAM, SYSTEM ARM, or READ NEW STATUS. The NSR will be loaded with LS data in response to CLEAR LAM, SYSTEM ARM, or the occurrence of function (F) when ARMED.A self-test feature capable of simulating input signal conditions through the use of the dataway is provided. The response to Self-test command, the module functionally switches the change-of-state logic circuits from LS to drivers slaved to the CAMAC WRITE lines. The function (F), which is the summation of non-masked change-of-state sensors, is inhibited to allow time for all 16 input drivers to stabilize prior to triggering down stream load signals. In all other respects, the module responds to the self-test input pattern in the same way as LS input.

INPUTS

Model 3322 is selectable for either contact or the presence of external voltage. The module will accommodate contact rated for 10mA of DC. Selective strapping also allow either 5V DC or 24V DC input. Optic coupler propagation turn ON, turn OFF delays are 10 max.The Model 3326 is designed to accommodate DC or 60Hz input levels of 5V or 24V. RMS Response frequency may be altered by component changes within the module. With factory supplied capacitors of 2200 pf, the response time is approximately 4 cycles of 60 Hz.

FUNCTION CODES:

COMMAND Q ACTION
F0 A0 RD1 1 Read Line Status, current status of 16 inputs.
F1 A0 RD2 1 Read New Status Register (NSR), clears LAM status and REARMS the module.
F6 A0 F06 1 Read Module ID F10 A0 CLM 1 Clear LAM status and load Line Status into NSR register.
F20 A0 BS2 1 Self Test, module inputs are switched to buffered inputs from the write lines.
F24 A0 DIS 1 Disable ARM. Contents of NSR and LAM status are not affected.
F26 A0 ENB 1 Enable ARM. CLears LAM Status and loads LS in NSR.
F1 A1 RD2 1 Reads M1 Mask Register, logic convention is such that for function F=(M2)(LS) (NSR), M1 is a logic "1".
F17 A1 WT2 1 Writes M1 Mask Register, a logic "1" enable the function (F) and LAM status for line Status changes from logic "0" to "1". With logic "0", channels are MASKED (ignored).
F19 A1 SS2 1 Selective set M1 Mask Register to logic "1".
F23 A1 SC2 1 Selective set M1 Mask Register to logic "0".
F24 A1 DIS 1 Disables LAM request.
F26 A1 ENB 1 Enables LAM request.
F1 A2 RD2 1 Reads M2 Mask Register, for the function F=(M2)(LS)(NSR), M2 is logic "1".
F17 A2 WT2 1 Same as F17 A1 except for M2 Mask Register.
F19 A2 SS2 1 Same as F19 A1 except for M2 Mask Register.
F23 A2 SC2 1 Same as F23 A1 except for M2 Mask Register.
Z or C CZ 0 Clears LAM status, ARM, NSR, and Mask Registers are placed to MASK (ignored) state.
X   Valid for all addressed commands.
