About BiRa

Bi Ra Systems, Inc. was founded by Lavon Biswell, in 1972. He left his job as a Team Leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to design and manufacture a device called a microprogrammed branch driver (MBD). Lavon knew that experimental physicists had a need for a reliable and flexible device to allow easy connection of experimental data acquisition and control functions to new minicomputers that were becoming available. The MBD was quickly adopted as the quasi-standard interface for high-energy physics experimenters. Mr. Biswell kept listening to his customers and worked to develop and manufacture over 800 designs that are used by scientists in laboratories throughout the world. . For over 30 years the name Bi Ra Systems has been recognized for superior quality, innovation and outstanding customer service by scientists and engineers working in Department-of-Energy-funded laboratories and international laboratories requiring reliable electronic equipment for their critical and, typically, highly complex experiments Bi Ra’s primary objective has been to support experimenters with cutting edge technology and reliability.

BiRa Systems Inc. is a registered New Mexico small business, cage code: 4N731!
